Katy Perry went on tour this weekend, but it wasn’t the sold-out stadium setting that fans are used to seeing the popstar perform in. Perry is inching closer to the birth of her first child with fiancé Orlando Bloom and on Sunday, Perry gave fans a tour of the couple’s very pink, very sweet nursery. There was still merch, but it was just for the baby.As part of her #SmileSunday livestream, which Perry has been participating in leading up to the release of her sixth studio album Smile on August 28, the singer walked fans through the room that will be home to Kicky Perry, as the Grammy winner affectionately calls her daughter.[video_embed id='2013611']RELATED: Katy Perry is expecting two 'babies' this year: 'The fans get a baby and I get a baby'[/video_embed]"I'm going to show you my baby room, ready? Just a little. Just a little sneak peek," said Perry, who pretended to cry over the reveal of every lighting fixture, the nursery’s mobile and crib, and the clothes hung on the wall, which doubled as decoration. Or maybe the tears were real. Third trimester hormones are no joke. Perry also revealed some of the custom clothes her daughter will wear, including an Eggo waffles dress and a onesie decorated with pictures of dad Orlando Bloom. TBH we would wear the adult version of this onesie. Legolas rules. In addition to previewing her daughter’s nursery, Perry also gave fans a tease of a new track called “Tucked,” which will appear on her upcoming Smile album. “I keep you tucked away inside my head / Where I can find you baby / Anytime I want to baby,” sings Perry for the chorus of the high energy pop track. It’s a jam. Perry, who is due sometime this summer, shared the emotional thank-you section of Smile, which touches on the dark time in her life that inspired the new album. “Many of these songs were written while coming out of one of my own darkest times and finding and fighting for the light at the end of the tunnel. For me, when I write a hopeful or empowering song, I’m usually feeling quite the opposite. I’m usually struggling with my depression when my higher self has to take the wheel and write for me. I channel these songs to remind me that I CAN get through it,” said Perry. The “Never Worn White” singer continued, addressing the ongoing global pandemic and the resulting rise in instances of depression and anxiety. “Truth be told, lately I have gone in and out of finding my smile and I know the whole world is feeling the heaviness too. I need to continuously remind myself, even as I sit here today in the uncertainty of what the future holds for me, my family and my child, I know that I have made a little snapshot of a record I can always push play on that reminds me that I have already survived many dark nights and walked through many valleys and I can overcome,” writes Perry. “If you have lost it, may you find your smile once again.” Perry’s next #SmileSunday is scheduled for Sunday, August 23, unless, you know, baby Bloom arrives.[video_embed id='-1']BEFORE YOU GO: Watch this dad use his beard to put the baby to sleep[/video_embed]
