With the historic NBA Finals causing frenzy across the city of Toronto, the legendary player who seems to always remain calm amidst the storm is none other than Kawhi Leonard.

The NBA all-star is arguably the player the Toronto Raptors have always needed, and has made it clear that he will only show excitement once the team takes the final win. A hilarious encounter with fellow Raptor Norman Powell proves just that.

TSN captured a video ahead of Game 3 against the Golden State Warriors of Powell attempting to give his teammate a pre-game fist bump — only to be declined by Leonard. The ultimate denial is going viral, especially on Twitter. The post was instantly followed with numerous fan reactions to the decline and Kawhi-related memes.

One tweet even shows that this is not the first time he’s avoided a fist bump from a teammate:

It seems as though fist bumps just aren’t Kawhi’s thing, or any other celebratory reactions for that matter. The NBA forward is known for his reserved personality, especially in media interviews.

Leonard daps when he wants, and if his mellow attitude is what will help the Raptors take the win, then… you do you, Kawhi.

The series is 2-1 in the Raptors favour. Game 4 tips off at 9 p.m. on Friday, June 7 on TSN.
