Kelly Clarkson files for divorce, cites 'irreconcilable differences'
Living in quarantine has been challenging for a number of reasons and celebrity couples, including Cara Delevingne and Ashley Benson, and Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse, are not immune to the unique stresses of the situation, choosing to part ways recently. Now Kelly Clarkson and her husband of nearly seven years, Brandon Blackstock, have also called it quits with the news that Clarkson has filed for divorce.
Documents originally obtained by The Blast on June 11 reveal that the The Voice judge filed for divorce in Los Angeles on June 4, citing “irreconcilable differences." Although the family has been quarantining together in Montana at their ranch, fans may have first sensed trouble when Clarkson listed her $10 million L.A. home for sale back in April.
The pair, who first met at the Academy of Country Music Awards in 2006, have two children together, a 5-year-old daughter named River Rose, and a 3-year-old son, Remington Alexander. Blackstock also has a 13-year-old son Seth, and daughter Savannah, 18, from a previous marriage.
Clarkson began dating Blackstock, a talent manager, in 2012 after his father (who managed Clarkson at the time) formally introduced them. On October 20th, 2013 the newly-engaged couple eloped.
More details regarding their sudden split are likely to surface, but in the meantime, fans are already pretty shaken up about it.

Clarkson seemingly has plenty on her plate to keep her busy (even with quarantine). Always an active presence on social media, the (OG) American Idol winner has been treating her fans to videos of her singing, as well as remote episodes of The Kelly Clarkson Show.

Yearwood and Clarkson belted out an impressive duet of “Believe Me Baby (I Lied)" shared on June 11.
She also recently participated in the #AllInChallenge, offering one lucky fan and a guest “a massive VIP experience” to help feed the hungry.

Clarkson has also been an outspoken advocate amidst the Black Lives Matter movement, frequently shutting down haters across Instagram and Twitter and pushing for positive change through her personal page and her show's account.
