Bodyguard  bombshell

The Bodyguard may have been filmed in 1992 but the chemistry between Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston endures. Along with the movie was the poster, which has always been pretty spectacular, capturing everything one needs to know about plot. But, there’s one thing that’s been kept a secret — until now. And Costner just spilled the beans on the shocking tidbit. Turns out, that shot of Frank Farmer carrying Rachel Marron wasn’t actually Costner carrying Houston. Wait, what?

WB

“That wasn’t even Whitney actually,” Costner told Entertainment Weekly. “She had gone home and that was her double, and her head was buried into my shoulder, which was appropriate anyway. She was frightened.”

Costner added that he’s the one who chose it. “I picked that picture out because my friend Ben Glass took it … I sent it to Warner Brothers and I go, ‘There’s the poster.’ Because it was so evocative. It wasn’t special photography; it wasn’t anything.”

He further explained that while the powers-that-be didn’t exactly love it —  Whitney’s face wasn’t in the shot, and she was the big draw at the time — Kevin ultimately insisted that the original was really the only one that worked. And look at how that worked out. Clearly, Costner had some sway as well.

OMG, Meghan’s estranged half-bro wants an invite to Archie’s christening

Despite Duchess Meghan not contacting the Markle side of the family after she and Prince Harry welcomed Archie (because if she had we would’ve heard about it from her father or estranged half-sister), Meg’s half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr., is still hoping he snags an invite to the baby’s christening.

“I can’t say whether I’m going to be invited, you know, I can’t say if Meghan is going to say, ‘OK, enough is enough and, yes, I want my family back in my life,'” he told the Express. “That would be wonderful but I can’t answer that question. Of course we all want to be there, because that is a big deal.”

He continued: “I’m on a personal crusade to better the family image right now and it’s going be a slow, long process,” adding that their father is hurt and wants a reconciliation. “We’ve been dragged through the gutter long enough. It’s about time we get some peace in our lives. He wants his grandchild in his life and he wants Meghan back.”

Oy. Yeah, we’re going to wager that’s not going to happen. This is something that needs to be worked out in private, not played out in papers. How do the Markles not know that yet?

Fergie and Prince Andrew are still adorable together

They may be divorced but Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew have always remained friendly, and even though their daughters are older, they still hang out and vacation for the sake of their family. On Friday, the exes were all smiles as they reunited publicly at the Royal Ascot. Which, of course, reignited the marriage reconciliation rumours. Though it probably didn’t help that Fergie said she and Andrew were “bigger than friends.”

“We work in unity and Andrew and I are focused on being good parents together. We are bigger than friends,” she told Hello!. “We learn from each other, support each other and understand it’s about communication, compromise and compassion.”

Just friends or friends with benefits? We may never know. And that’s OK. As long as they remain friendly, it’s all fine by us.

The Obamas hung out with Bono on Friday in the French Riviera

The Obama family are living their best life in Europe. On Friday, Barack, Michelle, Malia and Sasha were seen on the French Riviera, strolling through the city of Èze, before meeting Bono and The Edge at a two-Michelin-star restaurant. According to Page Six, they were joined by the U2 frontman’s wife, Ali Hewson, as secret servicemen hovered nearby.

But that was just the start of the Obamas’ European adventure …

Clooneys, meet the Obamas

The Obama fam departed the French Riviera and left Bono, Ali and The Edge, and headed down to Italy where they spent some time at George and Amal Clooney’s Italian villa on Lake Como. NBD.

People reports their vacation began on Friday, shortly after Sasha’s high school graduation, and with both daughters out of high school, they’re likely squeezing in some family time before the kids start seriously adulting.

Now, could the Obamas’ meet-ups with the Clooneys and the U2 dudes be for social purposes, or is there more to it? All involved are well-known advocates for human rights around the world. There has to be a bigger reason other than simply giving us sheer joy at the idea that they’re BFFs.
