We’ve heard of swollen pregnancy feet, extra hair in places where you don’t care to have it, and ridiculous hormone shifts. But pregnancy lips? That’s a new — but totally legit — one.

We have a feeling everyone will know what they are pretty soon though, now that Khloe Kardashian has had to defend hers from online trolls and general Kardashian haters.

The 34-year-old finally had enough of people commenting on her swollen lips during the new season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians (Sundays, 9 p.m. ET on E! Canada), and took to Instagram to defend herself. Because for those keeping track, we now live in a world where pregnant women have to defend the way they look or how their bodies are changing.

“PSA I was pregnant during this entire season of KUWTK,” Khloe wrote on Instagram stories. “Some women get ‘pregnancy lips.’ I was one of them. So my lips look crazy and massive. Trust me I know and I HATED it!”

To play devil’s advocate, it’s understandable why people might jump on the lip bandwagon and question Khloe’s “new look,” given how popular Kylie Jenner’s lips were once upon a time (the star reportedly took her lip injections out earlier this summer). Of course it also really sucks when you’re pregnant and everyone seems to have an opinion about the way you look.

At least some good will come out of this. While it’s probably super frustrating to be in Khloe’s shoes right now, she has the opportunity to educate all of us on some of the changes we didn’t even realize happen when you’re pregnant, but also on body-shaming in general.

“A lot of wild shit happens to your body and face while pregnant,” she continued in her post. “It’s out of our control. Most people don’t have to film during an entire pregnancy so just watch the show and be kind about my growing body and lips. Pregnant women should be off limits.”

Fair enough, although maybe we should change that to everyone should be off limits? After all, it’s body shaming and judgement that leads to so many cosmetic procedures and feelings of insecurity in the first place. Why can’t it just be “you do you,” and all that jazz?

Sometimes it just takes a Kardashian to point it out, we suppose. Meanwhile, it seems like Khloe is carrying on with business as usual, and that business includes getting back into post-baby shape following the birth of her daughter True in April.

As for those body-shamers and mommy-judgers? Khloe says they can all be damned.
