Don’t judge a book by its cover. Well, that’s what they say, but nobody actually listens to that rule, do they?

Assuming we all disregard the tired old idiom, it makes total sense that we could pick, say, the best of the best of this year’s movies simply by staring at the poster and deciding which one we like best… right?

We decided to put this theory to the test. We rounded up a bunch of kids and asked them to determine who would win the Oscar for Best Picture at this year’s Academy Awards solely based on the power of their posters. Yes, kids who have never seen the movies and are in no way biased by plots, politics, and all of that other “important” stuff that the Academy seems to care about.

So who do they think will win the biggest prize of the night? Check out the clip above and find out.

Special thanks to the amazing movie predictors at the Children’s Arts Theatre School.

Watch the 87th Academy Awards on Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. (ET) on CTV to find out if any of their predictions come true.
