It’s common knowledge that all marriages are about making sacrifices – whether it’s small, like sitting through a movie you didn’t want to see or bigger, like moving into another home.
It turns out that celebrity marriages are no different. Kim Kardashian is opening up about what she calls her biggest sacrifice for marriage – giving up her independence.
On her appearance on the Alec Baldwin Show, Kim reveals that she had to learn how to be “a little bit not-so-independent” with her relationship with Kanye West.
“I’ve always been so independent, and working, and [had a] schedule, and when you get married and have a husband with a career and kids, your independence… you have to let it go,” she tells Baldwin. “I had to learn that being with a man like Kanye.”
The reality star also said her marriage has changed how she views the spotlight and how much she craves the attention, especially after starting a family.
“It started with Kanye… everything had to be public for me back then. And so I had to kind of flip it. Now, on my time off, I’m like, ‘Where are the locations that I can go eat, go on vacation, where no one will see us?’ All I want it privacy.” Kardashian said.
What else has marriage taught Kim? Well, she said it also comes with learning to accept your partner’s views and opinions even when you don’t agree with them. Kim Kardashian had to learn that, especially with Kanye’s controversial views on Donald Trump.
“I let him have his own views and opinions, even if they’re different than mine”, she said when asked about his outspoken nature.
