Kim Kardashian has done it again. And by “it,” we mean posed topless (albeit with those black bars covering her tatas), but this time she wasn’t alone. She roped another lady into her topless, black-barred selfie world. Emily Ratajkowski, whom you may recognize from the “Blurred Lines” video or Gone Girl or We Are You Friends, decided to join Kim in this selfie movement.
When we’re like…we both have nothing to wear LOL @emrata pic.twitter.com/j52pX8ihOz

The pic shows both ladies in what appears to be a public restroom and, in our minds, what they did after that was drag a floor lamp in for decent lighting, lock the door, removed their tops, flung off their bras, twirled them like lassos over their heads, flipped us the bird and took a bunch of pics until Kim got the perfect one to edit and share on Twitter.
Emily shared the same pic on her Twitter and Instagram ages, and added in her thoughtful two cents:
We are more than just our bodies, but that doesn’t mean we have to be shamed for them or our sexuality. #liberated

Even if being sexualized by society’s gaze is demeaning, there must be a space where women can still be sexual when they choose to be.

It can be easy to chalk these two up as attention-seekers but we think the message they are sending out is a woman shouldn’t have to live in shame or be apologetic for her sexuality. Nor should life be dictated by the perception of others. People are going to hate, people are going to judge (it’s almost a given), but as far Kim and Em (can we call you that?) and their topless selfie goes, all they’re doing is bringing attention to the issue of a woman’s sexuality. That it’s her choice and about her and no one else. And that’s it not about being sexy but being celebrated for being fabulously female.
After Kim’s last topless selfie, which garnered both support and slams, Kardashian responded on her website, saying, “I am empowered by my sexuality. I am empowered by feeling comfortable in my skin. I am empowered by showing the world my flaws and not being afraid of what anyone is going to say about me. And I hope that through this platform I have been given, I can encourage the same empowerment for girls and women all over the world.”
And while Kim earned her share of criticism, Emily was one of the stars to defend her at the time.
And here they are again, this time together, standing tall. Topless and tall. Hear them roar.
Emily is no stranger to posing topless, and neither are many other celebs. We have video to prove it:
