Earlier this week, Kanye West took to Twitter in a series of now-deleted tweets where he called his mother-in-law Kris Jenner “Kris Jong Un,” asserted that she’s not allowed near his children with wife Kim Kardashian West, claimed that he’s been trying to divorce Kim since 2018 when she attended a conference with Meek Mill, insinuated that she cheated on him with Meek Mill, and that the Kardashian clan are trying to have him locked up.All of this also comes on the heels of Ye making erratic and emotional statements at his recent Presidential rally in South Carolina where he claimed that Kim wanted an abortion when she learned she was pregnant with North. These outbursts would be a heavy burden for any family to bear, but seeing as how the Kardashian-West clan are in the public eye and under constant and intense media scrutiny; Kim broke her silence this morning with a three-part statement posted to her official Instagram Stories to clear the air about what she is going through privately. “I’ve never spoken publicly about how this has affected us at home because I am very protective of our children and Kanye’s right to privacy when it comes to his health,” she wrote, acknowledging that her husband has bi-polar disorder. “But today, I feel like I should comment on it because of the stigma and misconceptions about mental health.”[video_embed id='1999228']RELATED: Halsey sends support to Kanye, opens up about bipolar disorder [/video_embed]“Those that understand mental illness or even compulsive behavior know that the family is powerless unless the member is a minor. People who are unaware or far removed from this experience can be judgemental and not understand that the individual themselves have to engage in the process of getting help no matter how hard family and friends try.”Expressing that his mental health sometimes means that his words don't align with his intentions, she continued, “He is a brilliant but complicated person who on top of the pressures of being an artist and a Black man, who experienced the painful loss of his mother, and has to deal with the pressure and isolation that is heightened by his bi-polar disorder.”“We as a society talk about giving grace to the issue of mental health as a whole, however we should also give it to the individuals who are living with it in times when they need it the most. I kindly ask that the media and public give us the compassion and empathy that is needed so that we can get through this.”She closed her statement with an expression of gratitude toward those who have shown concern for Kanye’s well-being and extended love to the family. Earlier this week, singer Halsey extended her compassion and support to Kanye during what she called a “manic episode.”The past few years have seen the Jesus is King rapper engage in controversial actions, including announcing his Presidential bid, endorsing President Trump, claiming that “slavery was a choice,” and most recently asserting that Harriet Tubman didn’t free the slaves. He was hospitalized in 2016 for his mental health issues, which at the time was dubbed a "psychiatric emergency."There have long been reports that the marriage between Kim and Kanye was on the rocks but that talk has remained rumours. The couple has four children together; North, 7, Saint, 4, Chicago, 2 , and Psalm, 14 months.[video_embed id='1995417']BEFORE YOU GO: Banksy sends a message about wearing masks while in disguise on a subway [/video_embed]
