Although Kourtney Kardashian just turned 39, she could easily pass for someone in her 20s. The oldest Kardashian sis probably still gets asked for ID when she buys a six-pack of beer or a scratch-n-win lotto ticket. (Ha! Wait, no, Kardashians don’t drink beer or play the lottery, silly. Also, she’d totally be recognized.) The point is, Kourt looks almost unnaturally young, and her line-free skin and clean complexion is enviable.
So, what’s the secret to her vibrant visage? The one that she’s willing to publicly admit is a $29 face cream by Elizabeth Arden (reasonable, especially by A-list standards). The product in question is the Eight Hour® Cream Skin Protectant, which was developed by Canadian-born Elizabeth Arden herself back in the 1930s. To say it’s a makeup bag staple feels like an understatement. This tube of cream has a cult following, and Kourt is on board, too.
The cream is available at various retailers across the country, including online at Shoppers Drug Mart’s Beauty Boutique.
“I love Elizabeth Arden’s eight-hour cream,” Kourtney said in an interview with V magazine. “It works great when you put them on top of these [Kylie Cosmetics x Kourtney] shadows, making them glossier.”
So, buy all of the newest Kylie Cosmetics x Kourtney eyeshadow palettes and then apply some Elizabeth Arden cream to your lids. Were the sisters wearing the EA cream in this campaign shot for the highly anticipated shadows? They do look super glossy…
But pairing the cream with her soon-to-drop eyeshadow collection isn’t the only way Kourtney uses it. She also applies in other ways, using it as a lip balm and also under her eyes. For Kourtney, it’s a versatile must-have.
Elizabeth Arden also suggests the product can be used to “shape brows, revitalize shine, soothe dry hands, and smooth cuticles and nails” in addition to hydrating peeling or dry skin.
It’s basically the Swiss Army Knife of the face cream world; is there anything it can’t do? If we could afford to buy enough to fill a bathtub and soak in this stuff, we would. Kourtney can afford to do that and probably should, in the name of science, at least. The rest of us will have to be more sparing with our tube of Eight Hour® Cream Skin Protectant and stick to using it once a day.
