Oh man, just thinking about how Kristen Bell even got into this dress is exhausting. Her stylist probably had to hold the side with the holes while her hubby Dax Shepard tried to manoeuvre the buttons in. Regardless, the final product can not have been worth all that effort, this dress looks like it was designed by a toddler. (Fine, the buttons are probably decorative, but we like to imagine, okay?)
Check out the entire look, and the rest of the most misguided outfits celebs wore this week, below.

Kristen Bell wore a dress with the biggest buttons you’ve ever seen

The Taboo actress definitely doesn’t abide by any fashion taboos. If there's ever a Rocky Horror Picture Show/Kinky Boots crossover, she should be in the running for a lead part because she’s clearly already dressed for it.

Paris is one hair accessory away from looking like she lost her way trying to get to one of those music festivals where the vibe is more desert nomad than boho flower child. While you have to commend her for stepping outside the box, this look’s a bit much, and not in her usual “too much pink” way.

Naomi’s look is cute as an everyday look, but for a movie premiere it falls flat. It’s not just tights and loafers that make this outfit too bland, it’s the entire brown colour scheme. Naomi should stand out as much as her excellent work does.Getty Images![Kristen Bell]()

The proportions of this dress are so purposefully exaggerated, that the only possible explanation could be that Kristen’s making a cameo appearance on a kids’ show like Barney or Sesame Street.Getty Images![Monika Kowalska]()

This Polish actress owes the colour yellow an apology. This is such a blatant abuse of this sunny yellow, it’s hard to know where to start, but let’s go with the textures, because mesh and satin are the last fabrics it should be in.Getty Images![Margot Robbie]()

Kristen is clearly not the only one having issues with proportions this week. Even though it’s clear the exaggerated volume of Margot’s jacket is just as intentional as Kristen’s buttons, it still looks like a mistake, because she is drowning in it.Getty Images![Jared Padalecki]()

The whole open-vest-over-an-untucked-button-up was already tired when boy bands who didn’t like being called boy bands were rocking the trend in the early 2000s. Maybe too many years on the same show has kept Jared in a state of arrested fashion development.Getty Images![Gwyneth Paltrow]()

This dress is perfectly fine, and her accessories are perfectly fine, but the two should not be interacting. If pairing dark, edgy accessories with a bright and cheery dress is some kind of Goop lifehack, we unsubscribe.

Greta Gerwig
Greta’s outfit this week was particularly puzzling because it mixes prints, textures, and hardware that are indicative of an edgy aesthetic, but they’re put together in a very sweet, conservative way. Wait, is this outfit actually a brilliant statement on breaking expectations? Nah, it’s probably just bad.Getty Images![Emily Carmichael]()

The writer behind Pacific Rim: Uprising is definitely owning her moment at the film’s premiere in Hollywood. Perhaps she’s just ahead of her time, but this look should have stayed in the costume department’s closet. The world just isn’t ready.Getty Images![Elle Fanning]()

Great girl, cool colour, boring silhouette. Sorry Elle, but the choker and bare shoulder aren’t enough to make everyone forget that what they’re looking at is just a green sheet with scalloped edges. It looks like she went all DIY on an old green screen.Getty Images![Elizabeth Chambers]()

This is a great example of a dress that looks much better in motion, because when she’s standing still it looks tubular, and not in the good way. The length also makes her legs look itty-bitty, which would be cute if she were a cartoon character, but in real life is just unsettling.Getty Images![Drew Barrymore]()
Drew Barrymore
Yes Drew, you are definitely a super strong lady, which is why you deserve an outfit that is just as strong as you are. The blue pinstripe pantsuit is a great first step, but with such a wide-legged pant, it loses its take-charge attitude.Getty Images![Daryl Hannah]()
Daryl Hannah
Oh, how the mighty have fallen. The fact that Daryl is such a stunner and an icon makes this even sadder. This horse dress looks like it’s made out of those blankets that some dude sells out of the back of his truck in rodeo parking lots.Getty Images![Bella Hadid]()
Bella Hadid
Bella got the dress code right in one sense, and wrong in another. She wore Dior to an exhibit about Dior, so checkmark there, but the exhibit is literally titled “The Art of Color,” so she failed on that aspect. Plus, there are way more exciting Dior designs she could have chosen (sorry for the backhanded compliment, Dior, but it’s true).Getty Images![Armie Hammer]()

Okay Armie, brace yourself for some tough love. You are a certified hunk, and you have made some great style decisions (like this suit), but you keep ruining it with dumb choices (like the shirt under the coat and the weird shoes). You are better than this.
