Kylie Jenner may be a makeup mogul, billionaire, mother and reality star who shares a lot about her life on social media but when all is said and done, she’s a fairly private person. Of all the KarJenners, she keeps things pretty close to the vest and rarely opts for real-talk, which is why her latest Instagram post is such an eye-opener.

Jenner took to Instagram early Tuesday morning to open up about personal struggles and how she deals with anxiety. Yes, she consistently shares a certain side of herself—selfies and vacation shots of her and her sisters, the odd photo of her and boyfriend Travis Scott and adorable pics of their daughter, Stormi—but Kylie decided to get spiritual on us with her latest post. With her back to the camera, arms spread wide, Kylie is pictured taking in a majestic sunset as she gives her fans some insight into what it’s really like to be her.

“I’m proud of myself, my heart, and my strength. growing up in the light with a million eyes on you just isn’t normal,” she begins the caption. “I’ve lost friends along the way and I’ve lost myself too sometimes.” Kylie goes on to talk about her first tattoo, which says “sanity,” and how it was meant to help keep her grounded, how she’s struggled with anxiety and the “internal ups and downs” she’s faced as a result of having Stormi. She admits that her life isn’t perfect and what she does share with us is “just the surface.” Of course the fact that Instagram life is a lot different than real life won’t be news to anyone but for someone who traffics in selling a certain image, that kind of honesty is refreshing. Jenner also offered advice to her fans, suggesting they “be gentle” to themselves and embrace the power in moving on and letting go of negative forces or people.

Now, whether she’s referring to Jordyn Woods or former friends in the past, we might never know. But if moving on from and letting go of Jordyn is a way for Kylie to find happiness, so be it.

Kylie concludes her post by suggesting everyone “do more of what makes you happen and be unapologetic,” adding that “we all have a magnificent destiny.” Khloe Kardashian couldn’t have said it better herself.

I’m proud of myself, my heart, and my strength. growing up in the light with a million eyes on you just isn’t normal. I’ve lost friends along the way and I’ve lost myself too sometimes. my first tattoo was “sanity” to remind myself everyday to keep it. I’ve struggled with anxiety my whole young adult life and after my baby i dealt with all the internal ups and downs. I felt like i had to find myself completely again. I keep a whole lot to myself but just wanted to share and let you know I’m human. my life is not perfect and what you see here on social media is just the surface. be gentle with yourself, move on, and let go. we are all capable of great things, worthy of love, and allowed to express ourselves. do more of what makes you happy and be unapologetic. now is your season ✨ we all have a magnificent destiny.
