To celebrate her 19th birthday, Kylie Jenner has once again had her hair all done up in cornrows, this time accentuating the look with a bright red colour to match.
We said it once, and we’ll say it again: it’s her party, and she can dye (her hair, obvs) if she wants to!
But seriously, will the girl never learn? Remember how much flack she took last time she apparently appropriated another culture’s hairstyle? It was back in 2015 when she posted a similar cornrow’d look to social media, causing the Internet to get all up in arms.
The young star debuted her new ‘do on both Snapchat and Instagram, writing “Fire red for 19,” on the former post, and causing us to wonder, ‘does she not know about Instagram Stories?’ Because that’s where it’s at.
But to be fair, the Jenner/Kardashians can’t even make a vegan breakfast without whipping the Internet into a frenzy; it’s kind of what they do.
This time, the just-turned-19-years-old star of KUWTK, who often turns to her wig collection to switch it up from her naturally long, dark hair (would the wig in cornrows have been less inappropriate? Srsly, we’re asking.), reached for a bottle of dye, and a more permanent style solution.
Kylie posted a second photo of her new locks to Insta on the am of her b-day (August 10th) wearing a low-cut one-piece swimsuit and fluffy slippers (do we spy Prada?) that matched her bright red strands. Just a regular ol’ birthday suit, ya know?

The now red-headed beauty has been celebrating her birthday for the past week, as one does when they don’t have many real life responsibilities, like work or children. And she’s received all sorts of presents (that keep popping up on her social channels) from a $200,000 car gifted to her by #bae Tyga and a bouncy castle with the words “King Kylie” scrawled across the front from Shopify.
Anyway, Happy Birthday, Kylie! We like the bright red look…at least, we like it if you like it. Now, if you’ll excuse us for a minute, we have to run out and buy some Manic Panic…which is purely coincidental timing.
