Lady Gaga is known for moving audiences, but one of her most famous fans was left in tears after her latest appearance on stage. Gaga was part of Oprah Winfrey’s 2020 Vision Tour this past weekend and spoke about some of her most traumatic experiences in life, displaying a rawness and vulnerability that stunned the former daytime talk show host.Winfrey kicked off her Oprah’s 2020 Vision Tour: Your Life In Focus tour on Saturday, marking the first time the A-lister has toured in five years. Presented in part by Weight Watchers Reimagined, the tour made its first stop in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and featured Lady Gaga as the main guest, with Winfrey interviewing the Grammy and Oscar winner about everything from her sexual trauma to co-starring with her A Star Is Born director Bradley Cooper. The women touched on some lighter topics, including Gaga’s rumoured romantic relationship with Cooper, something Gaga continues to deny. “We did a really good job at fooling everyone. We created that,” said Gaga, adding“It wouldn’t have worked if you didn’t believe they weren’t in love.”But the conversation turned more serious when the women began to discuss Gaga’s well-known struggles with fibromyalgia and her mental health. Gaga has previously revealed that she was raped, but spoke more candidly about the trauma with Winfrey than she has before in public.“I was raped repeatedly when I was 19 years old, and I also developed PTSD as a result of being raped and also not processing that trauma,” Gaga told Oprah, saying at the time she didn’t have access to doctors or mental health professionals. Then came her sudden rise to fame, which left no time to process her trauma, something Gaga feels contributed to her chronic pain diagnosis.“I all of a sudden became a star and was traveling the world going from hotel room to garage to limo to stage, and I never dealt with it, and then all of a sudden I started to experience this incredible intense pain throughout my entire body that mimicked the illness I felt after I was raped,” Gaga told Winfrey.
In a video shared by Winfrey on her Instagram channel, the TV host is seen in tears while embracing Gaga backstage after the show. Praising her for her willingness to share, Oprah tells Gaga “You were so vulnerable, you were so truthful, you were so real. I couldn't even believe you were doing that! Oh my god you were so real, so good, so strong, so you. "“It was so good. Thank you for doing that for me."Gaga also broke down during the pair’s meeting, telling Winfrey, "Of course I would. That's what happens when you're in the presence of an angel.”Winfrey, who was joined by best friend Gayle King in the clip, told Gaga "I was like, I couldn't believe you were saying these things. And you were so vulnerable."Winfrey’s 2020 Vision Tour is set to include appearances by Tina Fey, Dwayne Johnson, Amy Schumer, Tracee Ellis Ross, Julianne Hough, Kate Hudson, Jennifer Lopez, Michelle Obama and BFF Gayle.[video_embed id='1805571']RELATED: Elton John said Lady Gaga is the only ‘real star’ at the moment[/video_embed]
