The Golden Globes marked a busy evening for Lady Gaga. In addition to her win for ‘Best Actress in a Miniseries or Television Film,’ for American Horror Story, her awkward dust-up with Leonardo DiCaprio and her emotionally draining acceptance speech, Gaga took a moment to drop some HUGE news behind the scenes that is sure to make her little monsters shriek with joy.

During her backstage press interview at the Golden Globes, Gaga announced that she will in fact be releasing a new album this year. (Yep, we forgot that she was still a singer, too!)

“You know, I am putting out an album this year. I won’t tell you when,” Gaga cheekily told the press.

Despite a lack of release date, this is very exciting news for all of us who feared Gaga was sticking with acting full time…especially after gaining Golden Globe credibility.

When asked how her American Horror Story role and her newly polished image will affect her return to music, Gaga said, “That’s a difficult thing to say as I don’t know that you yet know what I will look like for my next album, as I’m still creating all of those things. It’s something that is a gradual change always with me. What was nice about playing The Countess is it reminded me that in my own life and in my music, I’m always — at times — playing a character, and I become them fully. And living inside of her was liberating, I’ll tell you, because she doesn’t give a sh– about anything.”

We’re so looking forward to the return of eccentric, kooky Gaga later this year!
