With the script based on the true crime tale from Sara Gay Forden’s book, The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed, Lady Gaga will play Patrizia Reggiani, Maurizio Gucci's ex-wife. Reggiani was left by her husband after 12 years of marriage for – you guessed it – a younger woman, and earned the nickname of “Black Widow” (sorry, Scarlett Johansson) when she was tried and convicted for orchestrating Maurizio's murder.Along with producing the project, it's been reported that Ridley Scott will also direct the film – and if his record is anything to go on (Alien, Blade Runner, Thelma & Louise, Gladiator... we could go on) it feels safe to say that the finished product will be good. Surprisingly, Scott's Gucci movie has been in the works for more than a decade, with Angelina Jolie once in talks to play the role of Reggiani. So far, Gaga is the only actor announced for the untitled project, which marks her first major return to acting since her Best Actress-nominated performance in Bradley Cooper’s A Star Is Born. While it would be great to see Cooper and Gaga star alongside each other once more (and hello, they're both Italian), we'd love to see someone like American Horror Story alum Zachary Quinto take on the part. Or, while we're dream casting here, imagine a world where Leonardo DiCaprio and Lady Gaga are sharing the screen?
