Greetings, fashionistas and fashionistos! It’s a new week, with a whole new set of A-list events and corresponding fashion. At these gatherings, there are always those who play the belle of the ball, which is all well and good, but this is not the place for celebration. This recurring gallery is reserved for those who play the part of the proverbial beast. With heavy hearts and sarcastic pens, we honour their sacrifice.
This week, Laverne Cox seemed to make more of a sacrifice than others, opting for a gown made with approximately one quarter of the fabric it would take to cover her fully. One wrong move and that’s a major wardrobe malfunction we can’t say we didn’t see coming.
Laverne isn’t alone on the worst looks list this week—she’s joined by fellow tempter of fate, Kate Beckinsale who was nearly losing her pants in the name of fashun and brining new meaning to the term “low-rise.” On top of that, Lisa Vanderpump showed up to an event in NYC in what looks to be a fancy Victorian suit and both Iggy Azalea and LL Cool J seemingly forgot to change out of their workout gear.
See all that and more in the Worst Looks of the Week gallery below.
Laverne Cox seriously tempts fate in a hyper risqué gown
Naomi ScottThere’s a lot to love about this glimmering floral mini, but we’re confused why Naomi chose to pair it with a latex onesie. Maybe she’s channeling her inner Catwoman. Why she would be doing that is not clear at this time. Getty Images
Bella HadidThe only real excuse for wearing pants with the button undone is that you’re making the most of an all-you-can-eat buffet. Huh. Victoria Secret models: they’re just like us. Who knew? Getty Images
Robin GivensRobin is posing pretty, looking like a New Age Belle in her gold dress. The glittery gold heels with the gold snakeskin dress, however, add up to just too much gold. Goldmember might approve—HE LOVES GOLD, remember?—but we don’t.Getty Images
Lisa VanderpumpYou may have spotted elements of the the 1980s swinging back into style, but how about the 1880s? It’d be one thing if Lisa was auditioning to be the next Judge Judy, but even then, she shouldn’t be dressing up as a barrister from the Victorian era. Getty Images
Laverne CoxDoes it grab your attention? Absolutely. But that doesn’t stop it from looking like a highly ineffective apron. Please don’t try cooking in this, Laverne. You will get burned in very, erm, intimate places. Getty Images
Iggy AzaleaThe psychedelic fabric at the bottom of Iggy’s shirt is intriguing. Is it part of the shirt, or did she forget to take off a colourful waist trainer from her early morning sweat sesh? Getty Images
Julie BowenCelebs must know that when they go on Sirius XM, somebody takes their photo and puts it on the internet, right? Sometimes we’re not so sure. Modern Mom Julie Bowen went business on top and athleisure on the bottom, which was perfect… for radio! Getty Images
Kate BeckinsaleKate’s pants appear to be mere fractions of a second away from a ‘whoopsie.’ And it seems to be intentional. Too bad, because she was on track with the rest of her ensemble—the orange kitten-heels, leopard bag and olive tone of her pants and jacket tie together oh so well!Getty Images
Camila MorroneThis pinstripe two-piece and deep red lip is trendy and timeless. That said, Camila could have booked in with a tailor and hemmed her pants a touch prior to the special screening of her new film. Getty Images
Idina MenzelLike the LBD and a good pair of jeans, the tiered skirt now sits among the pantheon of fashion items that never really go out of style. Unfortunately, Idina’s blouse is bland, and the clutch doesn’t pair well at all—the best thing about the look is the flowing fuchsia skirt.Getty Images
Liza WeilWe know Liza Weil can get away with murder in her hit series, but she’s not quite getting away with this outfit. You’re attending an event for the final season of your show—let’s see some colour and excitement!Getty Images
LL Cool JCool J, it’s time to cool it with those men’s cargo sweats. We think they’d be more flattering if the pockets sat above and not on the bend. He’s just begging to get a car key embedded in the knee.Getty Images
Megan HiltyMegan’s dress is better suited to a wedding in the tropics than the red carpet. Those deep red nails tho—super on trend. Getty Images
Candace Cameron BureThis denim jumpsuit is one you’ll want to add to your wardrobe, but Candace lost her best dressed award when she decided to pair her hot animal print heels with a mix-matched beaded belt.Getty Images
Brooke ShieldsBrooke slayed the red carpet earlier this week, and she was once again glittering in all the right ways here. But why the tuxedo dress shirt underneath? Ultimately, it takes away from the beautiful blue floor-length number.Getty Images
Susan Kelechi WatsonVelvet is taking over, and we love it! Looking elegant and luxurious, Susan is a vision, yet, her pink heels, also velvet, somehow don’t match. Let’s see it with a strappy block-heeled sandal. Getty Images
Brooklyn DeckerOn one hand, Brooklyn’s grey maxi dress seems to be washing her out, but on the other, she looks happy, which trumps everything. Style wise, however, the best element here is the pair of ruby slippers. Getty Images
