Whooo makes for a terrific best friend? Well if you’re anything like this adorable little girl from Boston, we wager you’d go with a lawn owl. That’s right, the semi-creepy bird-statue that was originally intended to scare other birds away has become a one-and-a-half year old’s new best friend, and it’s pretty much the cutest thing we’ve ever seen.
Rather than hone in on a teddy bear or a doll, Sylvie has apparently latched on to Whoopee, a gift that was originally given to her father to keep on his boat. We mean, would you want to take away something that means this much to your little girl?
Most kids have a stuffed animal or blankie. My niece has one of those plastic owls u put outside to scare away birds pic.twitter.com/U3CX3Gcb0V

Yeah, we didn’t think so either.
The pictures, which were posted by Sylvie’s uncle, quickly went viral, with her mom telling BuzzFeed that her daughter is basically “entranced” by her new friend. Considering they seem to eat together, sleep together, stroll together and take car rides together, we’d say that’s something of an understatement.
A cute, owl-eyed understatement.
So I tweeted this the other night and now the Internet loves my niece. Buzzfeed did a piece about her… https://t.co/zq5MwLlhgb

This kid gets an A-plus for creativity. After all, even Harry Potter knows that owls make for great buddies.
Move over teddy bears. First owls were taking over the nurseries with their cute themed decor. Next they’re taking over the world.
