Although Girls will likely still be around for at least a couple more seasons, Lena Dunham is already working on a her next show.
It was just revealed that HBO has ordered a new half-hour comedy pilot by Dunham called Max. The show is said to be a comedy set in the early ’60s, similar to Mad Men, and will explore ‘second-wave feminism’ (think ERA).
The show will focus on an ambitious young writer played by Lisa Joyce, who hopes to rise to the top of the misogynistic magazine world, while also “stumbling her way into the women’s movement.” Sounds good to us!
The pilot was written by Girls writing-team member and executive producer Murray Miller.
Dunham is set to direct the show, and will also be an executive producer. We’re hoping for some cameos too!
We love that Lena is a total boss now!
