Leslie Jones has been having a fantastic year, professionally, she’s Saturday Night Live‘s latest breakout star and is finding success on the big screen in Ghostbusters. But it hasn’t all been good, what with Twitter trolls spewing a litany of racist hate on the comedian. Jones easily could’ve quit Twitter because of all that ickiness, but she endured. And good thing she did because a bright, beautiful light came from it. A wise child whose message did not get lost in the mire.

Young Julian (we’re not sure if he’s 8 or 9; maybe 8 and 3/4?) might be too young to understand all the hate tweets Leslie received, but he got the gist that some jerks weren’t saying super-complimentary nice things about one of his favourite celebs. So like any gentleman, Julian wrote her a letter. Not a tweet, an actual handwritten letter in purple coloured pencil and everything.

“Forget what they say on the internet,” Julian wrote. “They’re just jealous. You’re a Ghostbuster and they’re not.”

He added: “You are a wonderful person and a great actor.”

Sweetly, Jones replied, telling the boy that she was putting up his letter at work. But we don’t know if she answered his P.S. directly, in which he wrote, “P.S. I like your smile. And what’s your favorite superhero?”

To be fair to Leslie, we think we know the answer: Every athlete competing in the Olympic Games. Jones will be laughing all the way to Rio this Friday, as NBC has officially hired her on to cover the Games thanks to her amazing live tweets. So suck on that, haters. Hmm, wonder if she can bring Julian along?
