During this pandemic, a lot of us have been following strict safety protocols, like washing our hands more regularly, wearing a mask in public, physically distancing, and only leaving the house for essentials. Ghostbusters star, SNL-alum and virtual TV-watching buddy Leslie Jones takes pandemic safety to a whole new level—you see, she was doing all that stuff before it was mandated. As the host of the revamped and rebooted Supermarket Sweep gameshow (premieres Oct 18 at 8pET/PT on CTV), she virtually dropped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! Wednesday night to reveal just how serious a germaphobe she is—and proud of it too, thank you very much.“You could say that I had PPE before PPE was actually PPE, you know what I'm saying?” she said from LA. “I don't let people use my bathroom! None of that!”
“I got two bathrooms now but if they use that bathroom, it is immediately cleaned,” she continued to the sound of all of Jimmy’s crew howling with laughter in the background. “But most of the time, I ask them to go to the lobby! I don't play like that man, just like I don't get in the swimming pool when other people in the swimming pool—that's booty water at that point.” DEAD.Admitting that she’s “super hypochondriac," Leslie says she goes to the doctor all the time and often consults her colleagues during health panics. “I text my writer all the time, ‘I think I'm having a heart attack... which side is the heart on?’” We honestly can’t blame her, this pandemic has made us all a bit germ-wary. She's also leading by example by barely leaving her home, and when she does, she's only meeting likeminded people who are taking COVID seriously and makes sure she has a safe, sanitized and physically-distanced way to and from her location. To recap, here's what we've learned from Leslie Jones today that should be applied to our regular lives:
  • Stay in as much as possible
  • Use PPE like everyone's life depends on it
  • Sanitize and then sanitize again
  • If you think you might be sick, go to a DOCTOR, not WebMD

When Jimmy spoke of supermarkets giving away free groceries once in a blue moon to their 1 millionth customer, however, Leslie was having none of it.“Jimmy I don't know what grocery store you used to go to when you was little but I have never in my lifetime ever seen anybody get a chance to get free groceries,” she deadpanned. “Just say it's a white grocery store, dude, because seriously, that's not going to happen in a Black grocery store.”“Jimmy, your privilege is showing.”Is it any wonder why we love her so much?Watch Supermarket Sweep Sundays at 8pET/PT on CTV starting Oct. 18 and Supermarket Sweep UK Wednesdays at 9pET on CTV Life Channel starting Oct. 21.[video_embed id='-1']BEFORE YOU GO: Dog jumps on top of sheep to go for a ride [/video_embed]
