Is there anything better in life than a bestie who can tell it to you like it is? You know the friend we’re talking about. It’s that person who won’t necessarily agree with all of your opinions and who will defend their own in a super passionate way, and then you’re both better people for having had the discussion in the first place.
Well apparently, when Lin-Manuel Miranda (you know, that guy who created Hamilton and is starring in Crave’s upcoming series His Dark Materials) and Kristen Bell (a.k.a. Veronica Mars) met at Comic-Con last week, they may already have become that person for one another. At least that’s the impression Miranda gave us when we saws him at an HBO event this week in Los Angeles.
Obviously we’re still fangirling over the fact that two of our favourite celebs had such an adorable meet-cute, so naturally we had to ask Miranda all about it. As it turns out, their friendship has continued well past the social-media-documentation we’ve all been celebrating, and evolved into the real deal. Like, he went to her birthday party last week and they’ve even already had their first fight.
“We’re friends now,” he exclusively told etalk. “We got over the initial, ‘Oh my god it’s you, oh my god it’s you,’ and I went to her birthday party on Sunday. And we had our first fight, about a musical that one of us liked and one of us didn’t. And we got to the other side of it. We got through it, and now we’re like buddies.”

Be still, our marshmallow, musical-theatre-loving hearts.
At this point, the only thing that could make us any happier over this friendship would be Miranda and Bell working on something together. Sadly, he confirmed that probably won’t happen anytime soon since she’s got two series on the go and he has “700 f—ing things” he’s currently balancing. So we’ll just have to be content with the new episodes of Veronica Mars and hope that maybe—just maybe—Miranda pops up on one of the final episodes of The Good Place.
In the meantime, here’s to the power of friendships and to social media for finally giving us one nice thing.
