Sunday’s return of Game of Thrones (Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on HBO Canada) broke HBO’s record for the most watched premiere in the station’s history. This likely comes as no surprise to anyone who is a fan of George R.R. Martin’s dramatic and dangerous book series turned TV show. After pushing back the premiere of Season 7 multiple times and forcing fans to wait over a year after the dramatic Season 6 finale, viewers were ready for winter to finally get here.

The premiere episode did an excellent job of setting up all of the major characters and kingdoms for Season 7. But sometimes it’s good to take a step back before going forward. As with all seasons of Game of Thrones, things are about to get really confusing. Do you remember who is alive and who is dead? Who is related to whom? Who is having sex with whom? Who is related and having sex? Yeah, it’s confusing.

Thankfully, actor Aidan Gillen teamed up with Vanity Fair to recap everything that happened in Season 6, in just five minutes. In the short but informative clip, Gillen reviews all the major events in the Seven Kingdoms, breaking it down into King’s Landing, the Iron Island, Meereen, Braavos, Beyond The Wall, Riverrun, and events that occurred elsewhere.

It’s definitely fitting that Gillen, who plays Petyr Baelish, aka Littlefinger, would be the actor recapping everything that happened in Season 6 of Game of Thrones. What character knows more than Littlefinger? He’s the biggest gossip in the seven kingdoms and has somehow managed to stay alive through all of his shady dealings, back alley alliances, and blackmailing. Have we ever even seen him hold a sword? In a place where you literally need to fight to survive, somehow Littlefinger has come out on top with everybody’s secrets firmly hidden under his cloak.

Game of Thrones airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on HBO Canada.
