When you’re meeting the leader of an entire country, always remember to pack an emergency suit.
That’s a lesson one Utah resident learned the hard way after he showed up to a roundtable discussion with the President of the United States looking, shall we say, just a tad underdressed. While everyone else at the Hill Air Force Base was clad in their most formal suit-and-tie combinations, this poor soul showed up in a white polo shirt most people would throw on for casual Friday.
The image was posted by Reddit user cc91172 along with the caption “My friend at work was accidentally sent to a special round table meeting with President Obama. guess which one he is.”
Did you find him yet?
The uploader later explained how this all went down in the comment section:
“The Obama administration sent an invitation to his speech in Utah at Hill Air Force Base. We thought they wanted a representative from our company in the audience. Turns out they wanted the representative for a special round table with the president. Due to this mix up we sent my friend (a leader in our CAD dept) instead of the CEO.”
Clearly, the embarrassment was mutual. This is an image of the same meeting that the Air Force later published online:
Notice anything different? Obama must not have been pleased.
