He’s starred in some of the most iconic romantic comedies in movie history, so it seems more than fitting that Tom Hanks would help a real-life couple get their happy ending.

The Oscar-winning actor and author was at the Texas Book Fair this weekend to promote his new book Uncommon Type: Some Stories. Appearing at the Austin festival on Saturday, Hanks spoke about his new collection of short stories and took questions from the audience.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hanks eventually told the crowd that he was bored of taking questions and wanted to ask one himself. Putting his acting skills to good use, Hanks pulled out a piece of paper and asked whether festival attendee Ryan McFarling had a question for another audience member, Nikki Young.

McFarling said he did and asked his girlfriend whether she would marry him. We may not be a smart man, but we know what love is. And pre-planning a proposal that includes help from one of the greatest actors of all time is pretty damn impressive.

Hanks invited McFarling and Young on stage, with McFarling getting down on one knee and presenting a ring to his now fiancé. Hanks then gave the newly engaged couple a hug and wished them the best. Bring on the feels.

If this kind of story doesn’t get people reading books again we don’t know what will.

This isn’t the first time that Hanks has publicly displayed his love of love. In September 2016, Hanks was jogging through Central Park when he ran into a couple posing for their wedding photos. The actor stopped to extend his congratulations to the couple and even took a few shots with them. What’s the list of things you’re supposed to have on your wedding day? Something blue, something borrowed, and something super famous?

Now the question is, will Tom Hanks and his cupid arrow strike again soon?
