Engaging in illegal activity on Grey’s Anatomy (Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on CTV) is nothing new. Have you recently cut a LVAD wire in the name of love? Maybe deliver a baby in a hallway because you ‘didn’t see’ an elevator open? Because Grey’s definitely has.

With that being said, we were still shocked to see Grey’s hit a new record for the number of illegal and unethical transgressions that took place on this week’s episode. Maybe Harper Avery was right. This place is going off the rails.

Someone call the po-po, it’s time to count the bad guys on Grey’s Anatomy.

Doctor: Andrew DeLuca

Offense: Attempting to show Amelia’s charts to Maggie after Amelia asked for his discretion.

Severity: Medium. It’s a HIPAA violation, but since Amelia was attempting to treat patients while fully aware that she had giant tumor in her brain, we’ll chalk this one up to a slap on the wrist and assume that DeLuca was trying to keep the general public safe. Also, his heavily veiled references to Amelia’s chart should not have been disguised as an apology to Maggie for how he ended their relationship. If an ex is actually going to apologize, don’t expect a person to be able to focus on anything else, like puns on their friend having a tumor. An apology is like a unicorn. You can’t take your eyes off it.

Doctor: Amelia Shephard

Offense: Refusing to disclose to her Chief, her coworkers, and her family that she had a grapefruit pushing on her brain.

Severity: High. We understand wanting to keep things private so a person can process devastating news, but we don’t get putting people’s lives at risk by continuing to perform surgery on them when you know you have a brain tumor. But on the other hand, she has a brain tumor and may not have realized what she was doing. No punishment is necessary. Again, brain tumor.

Doctor: Meredith Grey

Offense: Treating her therapist who was waiting to have surgery even though he wasn’t her patient. Not only that, she kicked residents out of the room who were actually supposed to be there. Let’s all say it together: “This is a teaching hospital.”

Severity: Medium. Meredith got lucky, considering she was scoring a free therapy session when her therapist had a stroke. She was able to save her therapist, which may be bad news for him considering he has to keep hearing about her being dark and twisty.

Doctor: April Kepner

Offense: Stealing someone’s phone.

Severity: Low. April did eventually give the teenager her phone back, but not until she lectured her on always going with the ‘nice guy.’ We get that April is dealing with her own divorce, but Avery being nice was never the issue. April running away with the army? An issue.

Doctor: Miranda Bailey

Offense: Keeping her job as Chief of Surgery even though she was fired by Harper Avery.

Severity: Low. Would you tell your staff that a guy who just died had used his final moments to fire you from a job you worked your entire life to get? Neither would we. Enjoy your surgical Crocs, Bailey. You earned them.

Doctor: Teddy Altman

Offense: Not being in this episode.

Severity: High. What about our feelings?! We got a season premiere with Teddy and that was it? Call the crying police, we need a wahhhmbulance.

Grey’s Anatomy airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on CTV.
