When you’re a fashion designer known for grunge, cutting-edge styles, and sleek street-style offerings, you’re obviously going to propose to your partner in the most amazing, outlandish and unique way possible, right?
Um no, not if you’re Marc Jacobs, and you’re proposing to your soul mate. In that case, all you need is a little old flash mob and a Chipotle restaurant.
That’s right – the renowned designer got down on one knee at the fast food chain Wednesday night to propose to his model/candle maker boyfriend Char Defrancesco, on Defrancesco’s birthday no less. But it was still completely memorable and special, because Jacobs orchestrated an entire flash mob of their friends before popping the big question.
All together now: Awwwww.
Anyhow, the crew did a little shoulder shimmying to Prince’s “Kiss,” completely taking Defrancesco by surprise. Although it’s still unclear if they enjoyed their burritos before or after the proposal, we don’t even care – free guacamole for all because he said yes.
Luckily, we get to see all of the cuteness thanks to social media, where both Jacobs and Defrancesco posted a video giving the basic highlights of the evening. The edited video opens with little B-roll of a New York based Chipotle restaurant, and ends with a random “Okay, okay, go get Chipotle,” declaration from an unseen woman. Of course, the actual proposal and dance takes place in between. Oh and kisses, did we mention there were hugs and kisses?
To be honest the whole thing kind of reads like it was sponsored by Chipotle, but really, who cares? If we had any say in the whole thing, these two would be getting free burritos for the rest of their lives. Or at the very least Chipotle should offer to cater their wedding, extra queso and all. “Get ready for the all time gag!!!!” Defrancesco wrote on his own Instagram account. “Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen.”
As if weddings didn’t make us hungry enough already. Congrats to the Mexican-fast-food loving couple!
