Marie-Mai Bouchard is a popstar from Quebec who rose to fame as a finalist on a 2003 Canadian reality show, Star Académie, before embarking on a popular solo career in 2004. Her full-length album debut, Inoxydable, was a commercial blockbuster in Quebec, spawning a two-year series of hit singles (“Il Faut Que Tu T’en Ailles,” “Tu T’en Fous,” “Encore une Nuit,” “Rien,” “Chanson Pour Hier et Demain,” “Tous les Chemins”), several of which topped the regional singles chart.

Now, she’s joining music mogul Scott Borchetta as a permanent mentor on season two of The Launch (Wednesday’s at 8 p.m. ET on CTV). And she’s in good company—other celebrity mentors that will make an appearance in season two include Ryan Tedder, Bryan Adams, Jann Arden, Max Kerman and Sarah McLachlan.

The Quebec superstar dropped by the Your Morning studio to chat about what it means to be a mentor on the hit show. Check it out in the video clip above.

The Launch premiers on Wednesday, January 30th at 8 p.m. ET on CTV!
