Bundle up, it’s cheap outside.
Canadian men’s fashion chain Mark’s has launched a sale where the colder it is outside, the more you save in store. Available across 46 locations in the Greater Toronto Area only (sorry, rest of Canada), discounts will be set based on the day’s forecasted low—before wind chill, that is.
But you better get out there soon, the deal only lasts until Feb. 15.
If you do happen to live outside the city though, don’t worry; a customized sale might be heading your way as well. If the promotion proves successful in the GTA, the chain will likely expand it to different cities (with different metrics, of course). A promotion being considered in Vancouver, for example, would be tied to millimetres of rain.
The idea of tying discounts to temperature isn’t new, though. Chez Ashton, a poutine and burger chain in Quebec City, has been doing it for years:
At least, this gives us one reason to be happy it’s freezing outside.
