You might remember about a decade ago, there was a little franchise by the name of Bourne that starred the little-known actor, Matt Damon and was possibly one of the best action series made in the early 2000s. Do you remember? OF COURSE YOU DO.
They blessed us with three movies, that basically consisted of beautiful Mr. Damon kicking ass and taking names (literally) and then they just stopped. Matt Damon did a different spy movie, then he bought a zoo, then he got stranded on Mars but no more Jason Bourne. He tried to pass the torch onto Jeremy Renner, but we all know how well that worked out (not well at all). Though we had accepted the fact that we’d seen the last of that beautiful assassin, there was always a little piece of us that hoped against all odds that they would make another Bourne movie (like a real one, not a Renner one).
And then they did. We were skeptical at first. Is he really in this one (not just in a passing photo and the occasional mention of ‘that Bourne guy’)? It’s almost too good to be true. We have another 123 minutes of Matt Damon as Jason Bourne coming our way, and we CANNOT contain our excitement.
But what do you remember about the 342 minutes that came before the new movie? Bourne got shot? A few times. He went to a bunch of different countries with different passports. Wasn’t there something about not knowing his own name? We know for sure he killed some (a lot) of people. Is there time to watch all three movies before Friday?
While watching all the Bourne films in an evening sounds like a marathon we need in our lives, it might not be entirely practical. Don’t worry, Jason Bourne himself has you covered. Matt Damon tells you everything you need to know from the first three movies in 90 seconds in the video above. So in just 90 seconds you’ll be all ready to see the latest installment. Or, you’ll just want to marathon the movies more than ever. We just love Matt Damon so much…
Jason Bourne hits theatres July 29th and we can’t wait! Check out the trailer below if you’re interested in bursting from excitement and anticipation.
