Thanks to a certain eye-opening documentary, all of us have kind of known that McDonald’s isn’t the ideal place to have a meal. Sure, they have healthier options now and their fries are made with actual potatoes from New Brunswick, but if you’ve ever cleaned out your car and found an old McD’s fry under the seat, you’ll notice that it looks exactly the same as when you got it fresh from the fryer months before. And that can’t be good for you.

You know what’s a trillion times worse, though? Pics of the inside of a McDonald’s kitchen that are so McGross you might barf up your McLunch.

A McDonald’s employee from Laplace, Louisiana claims he lost his job after he tweeted the nasty photos of his former workplace.

Nick, who asked Buzzfeed to not publish his surname, first posted a photo of a “drip tray” from the restaurant’s ice cream machine.

And this is what holds the cones for said ice cream. (Notice the random dipping sauce on the floor behind it? It’s probably been there for years.)

He followed up that with the grease trap:

And then this gem:

Then he moved on to the floors. Good grief.

McDonald’s released a statement soon after the photos were posted: “We are committed to running great restaurants that provide our customers with high quality food, service and a clean environment. This is a part of our soft serve equipment that does not come into contact with any food and is required to undergo regular and timely cleaning.”

Which clearly wasn’t done, maybe ever. That being said, even though the McDonald’s company may be responsible for how its restaurants are trained, this is primarily the fault of management and the employees. These are locally-owned franchises, after all.

Nick explained that he was fired and “banned from that McDonald’s,” which we’re sure suits him just fine. Perhaps he got a job at Wendy’s, who are clearly doing something right.
