Baby Sussex hasn’t even taken his or her first breath yet, but he or she is already booking a vacation. Ah, to be royal. According to The Sunday Times, the palace is currently planning Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan’s next royal tour which will reportedly happen in the fall of 2019 and could include the royal baby.
No word yet on the specific countries the couple will be hitting on their two-week trip, but The Times‘ sources say the tour will cover parts of Africa—particularly sweet since the royal couple fell in love on a trip to Botswana. Baby Sussex will be around six-months around the time of the scheduled trip (making him or her one of the youngest royals to travel abroad), but Harry and Meghan will decide closer to their departure date if they’re going to take the little one along for all or part of the two weeks.
“They hope to take the baby with them but will make a decision nearer the time,” the royal source said. “Potentially, Meghan and the baby could do some, if not all, of the trip.”

What an incredibly special surprise the grassroots led #globalsussexbabyshower was last Sunday! The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are immensely grateful for the outpouring of love and support in anticipation of the birth of their first child. In lieu of sending gifts, the couple have long planned to encourage members of the public to make donations to select charities for children and parents in need. If you already made a donation, the couple send you their greatest thanks. If you are thinking about it, they ask that you kindly consider the following organisations they’ve selected, which we will highlight here over the next few days: @thelunchboxfund @littlevillagehq @wellchild @baby2baby The Duke and Duchess remain appreciative for your warm wishes and kindness during this especially happy time in their lives! Thank you for sharing the love ❤️
This latest news about a tour of Africa comes on the tail of some slightly more controversial reports surrounding the royals and the continent. It was reported last week that Harry and Meghan might be moving to a country in Africa for an extended period of time amid tension with Prince William and the rest of the Cambridges. Many royal watchers have dismissed the story, but it’s part of this ongoing narrative surrounding the brothers’ separation and alleged animosity.
Buckingham Palace would not confirm or deny either report, but they don’t tend to comment on travel plans until they’re been announced through the proper channels. Until then, we’ll just wait here patiently for Baby Sussex’s arrival. Any day now…
