Showering Meghan with love once again

Apparently one baby shower isn’t enough for the Duchess of Sussex. That’s right, Meghan is having another shower, this time on her side of the pond. And we totally get it. Her first baby is a lot to celebrate, and now those who didn’t attend her NYC bash get to celebrate Megs and baby Sussex. Seems fair.

According to the Mail On Sunday, Meghan’s mom, Doria Ragland, will be there this time, as will Victoria Beckham and some of her other besties.

While the first shower was slammed for costing a pretty penny (a bill which pal Serena Williams reportedly footed, so we don’t get the hate) and for Megs taking a private jet (which was also privately funded so, again, no skin off taxpayers’ backs), the second celebration is going to be a “small gathering” of a handful of people and much more low-key.

Perfect. And Meghan deserves it. Ooh, perhaps Doria will stick around and help with the move and the transition and be there once Baby Sussex arrives. Ahh. Because Grandma Doria can fix everything.

James Gunn was reinstated as director of Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3

It seems Disney has had a change of heart and reversed its decision to can director James Gunn from the third Guardians of the Galaxy flick, much to the delight of many.

If you recall, Gunn directed the first two Guardians movies (as well as co-writing the original and the sequel) before someone dug up some years-old offensive tweets of his last summer. Despite Gunn’s apologies, he was fired. The filmmaker issued a statement that he understood how the business works and apologized again, with the cast protesting Gunn’s firing, all to no avail. Now, eight months later, Deadline is reporting that Disney is giving him another chance. And Gunn couldn’t be more grateful.

Gunn had a lot of people going to bat for him, and while his old tweets were gross and in poor taste, he has proved that he is no longer that person. The director will complete Suicide Squad 2 (yup, DC nabbed him in the interim) before getting to work on GOTG: Vol. 3.

No, Paris Jackson did not attempt suicide

On Saturday, TMZ reported that Paris Jackson was hospitalized after a suicide attempt, and placed on a 5150 hold (where a person is considered a danger to themselves or others by mental health professionals) but Paris was quick to debunk that. First, a source revealed what really happened.

“Paris had an accident this morning that required medical treatment,” the insider told People. “She is currently resting at home and doing fine.”

Second, she was seen out and about on Saturday, smiling and hanging out with her boyfriend, so not that much rest was needed.

And finally, a straight-up tweet did the trick.

And that’s how you do that.

J.K. Rowling fans are pissed about her comments on Dumbledore’s and Grindewald’s sexuality

Harry Potter fans, specifically those invested in the relationship between Dumbledore and Grindewald, are not happy with J.K. Rowling‘s latest comments. In a DVD feature for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, Rowling touched on the “incredibly intense” relationship the two characters shared.

And people are extra frustrated by this latest interview because what she’s saying and what has played out in the Potter universe thus far are quite different.

Basically, something has to give. She can’t keep having her cake, eating it and reaping the benefits of it all. Rowling, however, has yet to respond to the backlash and if she hasn’t already, she might never. Last year, if you recall, she took to Twitter to defend herself after the Dumbledore news broke, stressing that the film (at the time, only the first FB movie had been released and the second was in production) “is part of a five-movie series that’s only one instalment in.” Now what, though? Your move, J.K.

There’s a $500-billion class action lawsuit against almost everyone involved in the college admissions scandal

Just when things couldn’t get any worse for Lori Loughlin, Felicity Huffman and the others involved in the college admissions scandal, along comes a new legal issue. A big one. Huge.

Single mother and former teacher Jennifer Kay Toy filed a class-action lawsuit in a San Francisco court against numerous defendants claiming “legitimate applicants to colleges were denied access due to the illegal activities.”

According to the L.A. Times, Toy said in the suit that her son, Joshua, wasn’t admitted to multiple reputable universities (though she didn’t specify which) where the alleged bribing scandal took place, even though he had a 4.2 grade-point average — which is above the “top” average of 4.0. She also stated that his “rights to a fair chance” were stolen.

“I’m [out]raged and hurt because I feel that my son, my only child, was denied access to a college not because he failed to work and study hard enough but because wealthy individuals felt that it was OK to lie, cheat, steal and bribe their children’s way into a good college,” she stated.

Now, the amount she’s suing for might blow your mind. A whopping $500 billion. BILLION. Toy didn’t specify why that much, but she’s accused them all of inflicting emotional distress and committing fraud, directly impacting her son’s future. She’s not totally wrong, but $500 billion? Guess we’ll have to wait and see.
