While much of what the royals do is publicized, there’s also a fair amount they do privately. Add Meghan Markle to the list of royal do-gooders making a difference behind the scenes. According to the Palace, the Duchess of Sussex has been making secret visits since January to a community kitchen that serves the survivors of Grenfell Tower fire, and loved what they do so much she helped come up with an idea to showcase their amazing work.

Megs teamed up with the women who work in the community kitchen and helped create a cookbook. Published by Penguin Random House, Together: Our Community Cookbook, which is set for a Sept. 20 release, showcases more than 50 recipes from the women affected by the Grenfell Tower fire.

Meghan even wrote the foreword to the cookbook, hailing the benefits of communities cooking together.

Meghan’s royal project makes an impact on so many levels. The initiative not only shows just how much good the community kitchen provides but it also showcases Meghan embracing the diversity of the women, their food and their cultures. It is a celebration of communities coming together.
