With engagement rumours continuing to surround Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, it’s only a matter of time before the couple will official announce it. Yeah, yeah, we’ve all presumed it’s already happened; we just don’t know when they’re going to come forward with the good news and, more importantly, the ring. But we’re thinking Markle will have to start practicing her royal wave because the big announcement is imminent.
The latest? Markle has quit her role on Suits. According to The Daily Star, the actress told show execs that she won’t be back for the show’s eighth season. Now, is that because she’s got new projects in the works? Nope. According to IMDB, she has nothing in development, nor any upcoming projects. Unless you count a royal wedding.
“Meghan knows she can’t really act at the same time as being a princess and is happy to make this career sacrifice,” a source told the paper. “She enjoys her work with UNICEF and will broaden out her charity commitments when she becomes a royal.”
And while Meghan “feels she owes so much to Suits,” she’s realistic. “Harry can’t move to Toronto, so she’ll have to move eventually if they want to be together. Her decision to give up the biggest role of her career would mean a lot.”
Reports that the two are already engaged — after their summer trip to Botswana — were believed to have been kept quiet so the event wouldn’t take attention away from the anniversary of Harry’s mother, Princess Diana‘s death. If that’s true, well, it makes sense. So let’s bring on happier news.
Many are reporting that Harry and Meghan will announce their engagement by the end of the year. Heck, maybe even next month since that’s when Markle wraps filming on Suits‘ seventh season. Just think, we might get this precious gift in less than two months. Sadly, it won’t be from Toronto, but in London, safely behind Kensington Palace’s walls.
Harry, Meghan, we’re ready. Now let’s roll this out.
