Tyler and Tracy Dooley, Meghan Markle’s nephew and his mother, appeared on Good Morning Britain Monday to discuss their relationship with the bride-to-be and whether they’ve received invitations to her big day with Prince Harry.
“I don’t think we are going to get the invitations,” Tracy said flatly, adding, “That’s fine. We’re okay with that.”
The future royal’s family drama has been a hot-button issue throughout her engagement, with questions swirling as to whether or not her half siblings, reclusive father or estranged in-laws would receive invitations, let alone play official roles during the special day.
“Ultimately it’s her day, it’s her happiness,” Markle’s nephew said. “We’ve been here from the very beginning, I mean her whole life, just always rooting her on and supporting her.”

Tracy revealed she hasn’t seen the former actress in 20 years, spurring host Richard Madeley to challenge her. “Well, then it doesn’t seem unreasonable for you not to be invited, does it?” Madeley said, continuing, “I mean, if it’s twenty years, you’re pretty much on the fringes, aren’t you, of the family, to be honest?”
Tyler and Tracy join the ranks of other Markle family members who have stepped into the glare of the public eye since news of her relationship with Prince Harry spread, voicing their “insider” knowledge and opinions to several news outlets around the world. Among the most notorious: Meghan’s half-sister Samantha has appeared on GMB twice as well as Inside Edition in what critics allege is an attempt to promote her upcoming tell-all book titled The Diary of Princess Pushy’s Sister. Samantha, who is confined to a wheelchair due to MS, has publicly slammed her estranged sibling for performing charity overseas but not helping out their shared father after he declared bankruptcy.
“If you are interested in helping those less fortunate than yourself, it really should begin at home,” she said of Meghan, who will soon be joining Harry, Will and Kate with their royal charity work on behalf of The Royal Foundation.
Meanwhile, according to The Sun, Thomas Markle Senior will soon be leaving his reclusive life in Mexico to attend the May 19 ceremony in London. If true, this means Meghan’s dad got the invite while Samantha and Meghan’s half-brother Thomas Jr. reportedly did not.
While Meghan and Harry have remained highly selective for their exclusive guest list, her family has still expressed support for her upcoming union.
“We’re still supporting her on. We’re so proud of her,” Tracy Dooley said Monday.
