Meet the parents

Things are starting to happen. It looks like Meghan Markle‘s family will travelling to England ahead of their daughter’s wedding to Prince Harry. Her parents will witness their daughter get baptized and confirmed into the Church of England later this month. According to London’s Sunday Times, Meghan — who was raised Episcopalian, went to a Catholic high school, and whose former husband is Jewish — will be adopting the Anglican faith as she prepares to marry Prince Harry.

Meghan’s mom, Doria Ragland, will definitely be there, and isn’t new to the royal scene. Her father, Thomas Markle, however, has not yet met his future son-in-law, so that will be nice. Here’s hoping Meghan’s siblings won’t be attending.

Meghan doesn’t have to be Anglican to marry Harry, it’s more a sign of respect for Queen Elizabeth‘s role as head of the Church of England. Markle is following in the footsteps of her future-sister-in-law, as Kate was confirmed into the church in a private service in the weeks leading up to her marriage to William.

This comes hot on the heels of Harry and Megs inviting members of the public to join in their joyous day.

Ten weeks to go, people. It’s a good time to be alive.

Macaulay Culkin reacts to Home Alone conspiracy theories

Former child star Macaulay Culkin visited The Tonight Show where he spoke to Jimmy Fallon about some of the most bizarre fan theories he’s heard about the movie that made him famous, Home Alone.

The first? “That Kevin McCallister grew up to be Jigsaw from Saw.” Um, please, no.

Fallon brought up the airport scene where it looks like the late Elvis Presley is actually alive and secretly in the movie. Of the extra standing behind Catherine O’Hara, Culkin joked, “I didn’t realize Elvis turned into Richard Karn.” (He has a point.)

But the one glaring issue for Mac is what we’ve all thought all along. Why didn’t he just call the police? “I think that’s an enormous plot hole,” said Culkin. But where’s the fun in that?

Fergie returned to the stage after anthem debacle

Big girls don’t cry, and neither does Fergie. The singer may have caused a bit of a tizzy with her breathy performance of the national anthem at the NBA All-Star Game a couple weeks back but the show must go on.

The Launch star joined DJ Khaled during his set at his concert with Demi Lovato and performed her hits “Fergalicious,” “London Bridge” and “Glamorous.”

She needed this, just saying. And Fergie was happy for the opportunity. Sing on, girl.

Elton John explains why he stormed off stage during concert

Sir Elton John has been performing a series of concerts in Las Vegas for years, but nothing like this has happened before. During “Saturday Night,” a set in which he invites audience members to join him on stage, one fan was a bit of a handful, trying to touch the piano keys while John was playing. It got so bad that Elton walked off mid-concert.

The Rocket Man has since released a statement, explaining in a statement to E! what went down. “Thursday night in Las Vegas a fan put his hands on the piano keys while I was playing and continued to do so even after I asked him to stop. He then proceeded to reach over the piano and try to take pictures, completely disrupting the performance.”

John continued: “I bring fans onstage every evening when we play ‘Saturday Night’ in the set, it is always a lovely part of the show where I get to meet them, shake their hands and have them right there with me while I play. They have always been very courteous to the fact we are in the middle of playing a song live.”

But not this dude. “This guy was rude, disruptive and had no care or respect for our show and so I let him know how I felt, then left the stage until they had removed him.”

In case you were wondering, Elton came back. He wasn’t going to let that one guy go and break everyone’s hearts.

The Mary Poppins trailer is finally here

Christmas has come early. Disney released the first trailer for Mary Poppins Returns and it’s about as supercalifragilisticexpialidocious as it gets.

Picking up 25 years after the events of the first film, Michael is all grown up with a family of his own, and they’re living in his childhood home, No. 17 Cherry Tree Lane. Another gusty day brings Emily Blunt‘s Mary Poppins down from the heavens and into their lives during a time when they need it most.

Mary Poppins Returns is scheduled to hit theatres on Christmas Day.
