Michael Bublé got emotional on Carpool Karaoke
So the latest edition of James Corden‘s Carpool Karaoke starts OK, as upbeat and fun as any other one. Our main man, Michael Bublé, appears in the Stand Up to Cancer special, and they sing a few of his classic hits, scam a lovely café out of an iced espresso, and even engage in a scat battle with James’ dad, Malcolm.
But then things turned emotional when Michael was asked about his son Noah’s cancer diagnosis. It was two years ago that Bublé and wife Luisana Lopilato revealed the devastating news and when James brought it up, Michael kept it together as best he could.
“It’s so hard to have to acknowledge it because it’s so painful to talk about,” Bublé said, holding back tears. “But obviously, we got the diagnosis, and that was it man, my whole life ended.”
As for getting through it, he said, “It’s weird man, I’m not OK. My wife, honestly, when this all started, I became the strength to somehow pull us and lift us and to be positive. And when they got [the cancer] out and the chemo was done and they said, ‘We did it, it’s good, he’s OK,’ I fell, I just fell. My wife picks me up now.”
Easily the best, most touching, most important Carpool Karaoke to watch. But have tissues on hand; you’ll be sobbing by the end.
Meghan gets a standing ovation in the speech department
On their first day in New Zealand, Duchess Meghan gave a speech–that she wrote– on the country’s place in the history of women’s suffrage that was maybe the best thing we’ve heard from a royal’s mouth since Harry said “I will” on May 19. Megs may have looked all proper in her black cap-sleeved cocktail dress but her words were as fierce as a Māori warrior.
“Bravo New Zealand for championing the right of women to vote 125 years ago.” — The Duchess of Sussex, as she and The Duke joined PM @JacindaArdern and @GovGeneralNZ Dame Patsy Reddy to celebrate the 125th anniversary of women’s suffrage in New Zealand. #RoyalVisitNZ pic.twitter.com/zpFhyPiE8r

“Suffrage is not simply about the right to vote for women, but also about what that represents: the basic and fundamental human right of all people, including those members of society who have been marginalized whether for reasons of race, gender, ethnicity or orientation, to be able to participate in the choices for their future and their community.” Sing it, sister.
Now, did the self-proclaimed feminist and longtime champion of gender equality and women’s rights break protocol–since the Royal Family isn’t supposed to discuss politics? Some believe so, but not Kensington Palace. Her speech was pinned to the top of its Twitter page. If anything, they want everyone to hear it.
Demi Lovato’s mom reveals her daughter is 90 days sober
Demi Lovato‘s mother, Dianna De La Garza, was a guest on Conversations with Maria Menounos where she described the first hours following her daughter’s overdose in July and it was any parent’s worst nightmare.
Thankfully, Demi has come out of it and De La Garza confirmed to Menounos that the singer has been sober for three months.
“She has 90 days and I couldn’t be more thankful or more proud of her, because addiction, being a disease, it is work,” Dianna said on the radio show. “It’s very hard, it’s not easy, and there are no shortcuts.”
Well done, Demi, and keep fighting on.
Pete Davidson wants nothing to do with Ariana Grande
Hmm, while we figured their relationship wasn’t going to last (though we kinda wished it would), Pete Davidson and Ariana Grande aren’t experiencing the amicable split we would have hoped for. In fact, Pete is doing everything he can to “distance himself” from Ari.
“He decided to focus on himself,” a source told Us Weekly. “He’s had the matching tattoo that he got with her changed” and “currently, they are not speaking.”
The insider added, “This has been a difficult experience for Pete. He’s always been an extremely private person and the Ariana Grande spotlight and social media were a lot of new pressure for him.”
Well, any hope of them getting back together is probably dashed now. Here’s hoping they get to a place soon where they can each find happiness again.
That photo of Bieber eating a burrito in a ridiculous way actually wasn’t Bieber
Last week, someone posted a photo of Justin Bieber eating a burrito like it was corn on the cob. And, well, that was all kinds of disturbing BECAUSE IT WAS A BURRITO and, frankly, there’s only one way to eat one.
does….justin bieber not know how… burritos work ? pic.twitter.com/WWKP2ttARe

Well, funny story — turns out, that dude on the park bench wasn’t Biebs. A video was published on Sunday detailing the giant prank. Yes Theory actually flew out a Bieber-lookalike from Canada to California to make it all the more authentic.
Haha, good one?
