In the ’80s, John Hughes movies were a big deal. Big. Like, huge. Everyone has a favourite, be it The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off or Some Kind of Wonderful. His writing just hit home, you know?

Michael Douglas, on the other hand, was a little busy at that time. In 1986, he was just coming off the successes of Romancing the Stone and its sequel, and was about to make two of the biggest films of his career: Fatal Attraction and Wall Street.
