Demi Lovato might be done accepting roses from reality TV suitors. It seems we've seen the last of the flirtation between the singer and
Bachelorette reject Mike Johnson, and he already has his eye on another celeb: Keke Palmer. If you recall, Lovato was a fan of Johnson as he tried to woo Hannah Brown on the most recent season of
The Bachelorette. After Mike was eliminated, he and Demi continued flirting on social media before
picking it up IRL. Johnson later told
Us Weekly just how much he dug her, in spite of their differences, saying, "She's a gorgeous superstar and I'm just a regular guy, right? We definitely don't have that part in common. What we have in common is that, once you get to know Demi and you really talk to her, she is literally such a down-to-earth person. We're both from Texas. We love getting tattoos, we love laughing. We're goofy. We both love music."Mike also revealed how direct Demi was during their very first real conversation. "She said, 'Hey, this is how it is. Take it or leave it.' For her to be that strong, powerful and upfront — wow! She was real. She's the real sh*t. I love it." At the time, he said he was "enjoying getting to know her, and I hope she's enjoying getting to know me," but clearly something has changed because it now appears Mike is more interested in getting to know Keke. Mike appeared on
Strahan, Sara and Keke on Monday, where he tried to put the moves on the
Hustlers actress.
Oh, dear. "I made a mistake, I don't like dating in public," Johnson said before TURNING TO PALMER AND ASKING HER ON A DATE. Keke was clearly caught off guard and her co-host, Michael Strahan, came in and tried to salvage the situation by issuing a warning to Johnson. "Mike, I'm going to tell you something, right. Demi is my girl, I love this one [gesturing to Keke] here, too. Now, you mess up, I'm coming for you."Yaaas, Michael. And, nooooooo, Mike. Just, no. In the hours after that awkward interview, it seems Mike learned to not run his mouth so much. When asked about him and Demi by
People, Mike said, "My relationship status right now is sadly like my Facebook, it is private."Good for Palmer for keeping it professional and avoiding Johnson's publicity stunt. Because if Keke's reaction said anything, it was that she did
not like being put on the spot. Now, if she passed her number to Mike after the show, that's a whole other story. Sorry, not sorry?
