When it comes to raising your kids, you probably have a whole bunch of goals for them. Make sure they’re properly fed and fit. Hope that they grow up smart and decent, and maybe get into a good trade or college. That they treat others the way they want to be treated.

And, if you’re Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher, that they don’t grow up to be assholes.

Fair enough. After all, when your parents are two of the hottest and richest people on the planet, it makes sense that your kids may be more likely than most to grow up entitled. At least that’s something the couple is aware of.

“The one topic of conversation we had even prior to ever having kids was always, ‘How do you raise a child to not be an a——?’” Kunis explained on an Australian podcast recently. “It’s so important because we both came from pretty solid poverty backgrounds and grew up very poor and are very much self-made and are very aware of what a dollar is worth. Nothing’s been handed to us.”

It’s like a celebrity breath of fresh air, isn’t it? Sure, it’s likely that Kunis and Kutcher’s kids will have some sense of entitlement — they will grow up in a beautiful home with lots of rich friends and a family that’s always in the spotlight — but it sure sounds like, despite all of that, there’s every good intention to keep them as grounded as possible.

And after all, doesn’t all learned behaviour start at home? So kudos to them. It’s nice having a celeb family we can (kinda, sorta) relate to.
