In a world where most celeb breakups turn into a gossip fest fueled by “unnamed sources,” the last thing we expect is for a celeb to candidly address the whole situation on Twitter. Then again, this is Miley Cyrus we’re talking about—we shouldn’t be surprised by anything. The singer took to social media Thursday afternoon to address cheating rumours and other misinformation circulating about her breakup with Liam Hemsworth.

In a lengthy thread, Miley admitted it’s “no secret” that she has a controversial image and made mistakes in the past that led to her losing gigs like a role in Hotel Transylvania and a Walmart deal. She also revealed that she cheated in relationships when she was younger, but asserted that she didn’t cheat in her relationship with Liam, writing, “I meant it & I was committed” after their reconciliation in 2016.

“There are NO secrets to uncover here. I’ve learned from every experience in my life,” she tweeted. “I’m not perfect, I don’t want to be, it’s boring. I’ve grown up in front of you, but the bottom line is, I HAVE GROWN UP.”

She further clarified for the people way in the back that she DID. NOT. CHEAT. on Liam and that she will always love him.

“I can admit to a lot of things but I refuse to admit that my marriage ended because of cheating,” she wrote. “Liam and I have been together for a decade. I’ve said it before & it remains true, I love Liam and always will.”

She added that she’s feeling the healthiest and happiest she has in a long time and had to make the “healthy decision” to “leave a previous life behind,”  a necessary step as she grows as a person.

The tweets also add more context to Miley’s recent single, “Slide Away” which contains lyrics that seem to allude to the end of her marriage and having to “move on” from a teen relationship (Cyrus and Hemsworth first met in 2009 when she was 16).

Miley’s statement comes the day after Liam Hemsworth officially filed for divorce after seven months of marriage. The actor released his own statement about the split on social media earlier in August where he shared a similar sentiment, saying, “I wish [Miley] nothing but health and happiness.” Since then, rumours have been swirling about why the couple decided to call it quits, with many people speculating it was because Cyrus was unfaithful. Well, take that, haters. Miley may be a twerking queen, but she ain’t no cheater.
