It’s June, and you parents all know what that means: it’s dance recital season. And, for the non-parents out there, now it makes sense why you’ve been seeing little girls running around with all the makeup and their hair swept back in super-tight buns.

Unless you happened to catch a recital from the weekend in Raleigh, N.C., then you missed arguably the best performance of the season. But thankfully the girl’s parents recorded it and posted it on YouTube for all of us to enjoy.

The video, called “Johanna Channeling Aretha Franklin!” is pretty self-explanatory. First off, props to the girls’ choreographer who didn’t use “Barbie Girl” or some other techno-ized song and instead opted for Franklin’s 1967 classic “Respect.” But second, while all three dancers are adorable, it’s Johanna that clearly steals the show. Now THIS is a superstar in the making. So. Much. Sass.
