Arna Ýr Jónsdóttir, aka Miss Iceland, will no longer be participating in the upcoming Miss Grand International beauty pageant in Las Vegas. And you know what, neither will we.

The Icelandic beauty told the Iceland Monitor that she was allegedly advised by event organizers to “stop eating breakfast, eat just salad for lunch and drink water every evening until the contest” in order to slim up before competition.

Ummmm, no? Nope. Nuh uh. Not even a little bit. No freakin way! The only person we let tell us to eat “just salad for lunch” is our doctor, and even she knows to tread lightly when issuing these types of comments. But this advice came from someone who apparently, “wants [her] to do well in the contest.”

Instead of picking up the suggested pre-event diet to shed that pesky extra weight that she’s carrying around (where she’s carrying it, we have no idea—because she looks gorgeous to us) Arna picked up a pen, writing a response to the event management and posting it to her Instagram account.

And just this morning she sounded off again, reiterating her reasoning for boycotting the event. She’s right, too, the event doesn’t deserve her. Or us.

My point of view 💕

How do you say “You go, girl!” in Icelandic?
