When a baby’s first birthday comes around, it’s natural for parents to go wild planning elaborate parties and putting out huge spreads — even if the guest of honour won’t remember a thing. But, hey, any excuse for a party, right?

That being said, one mom probably should’ve hired a professional baker to handle the cookies she wanted for her kid’s first birthday party. Because the ones she tried making on her own didn’t exactly turn out the way she wanted them to.

The goal was simple: 100 cookies that look like the number “1.” All that would be needed was good dough and a piping bag — Easy enough, right? Um, not so much. Because it wasn’t until after they were baked and she had frosted them that she realized they looked exactly like little blue penises.

My wife made “1” cookies for our 1 year olds birthday.. I don’t think they came out right from funny

Damn, this Reddit user wasn’t kidding. These are so, so wrong — too wrong to serve at a child’s birthday party. Even if your mind isn’t in the gutter, anyone with decent eyesight can see that those are barely passable as “1” cookies. In fact, the sheen only draws more attention to their phallic shapes.

The comments came in fast and furiously, some offering baking advice — like outlining the number on each cookie or chilling the dough first — while others responded with obvious sex jokes.

But one Reddit user in particular managed to capture both perfectly: “If you edge them, the frosting turns out thicker too.” Another comment even stated that “The creamy icing should help.”

While these cookies might’ve worked better for a gender reveal party, it was still a good effort by Mom. At least for her kid’s next birthday, the number “2” probably won’t be mistaken for anything anatomical.
