They say a trip is over before you know it, but it’s a little hard to believe we’re already checking into the halfway point Pitstop on The Amazing Race Canada’s second season Tuesday night.
To commemorate a season that’s taken competitors out of the country for the first time ever and featured a cast that couldn’t have been better selected by the United Nations, CTV and TSN host James Duthie are getting the first half of eliminated teams to congregate in a special after show, After the Race. While we’re sure there will be plenty of discussions about cross-border racing and split second decisions that cost teams their spot on the mat, everyone knows that the epic meltdowns that happen on this show are one of the best reasons to watch. After all, if you can’t participate in an Amazing trip for a chance to win cool prizes, you might as well enjoy watching those who can play fall to the pressure every once in a while.
In that spirit, here are the 10 best meltdown-worthy moments of the Race’s second season so far:
1. An Olympian loses her lunch
The scene: Olympic hockey player Natalie Spooner is asked to sky dive in tandem during the season’s first episode.
The breaking point: We’re going to guess at some point during the actual plummeting.
The quote: “You should have done this one,” she said after throwing up on the beach, to racing partner Meaghan.
2. A French couple goes to the dogs
The scene: During a Detour, Alain and Audrey decide to race dogs instead of build a tent.
The breaking point: When the sleigh dogs refused to listen, despite much pleading from the French couple. The pleading quickly turned to arguing.
The quotes: There were several, however they were all in French, and probably not fit to print.
3. Everything Rex Harrington

The scene: The former So You Think You Can Dance Canada personality and his partner Bob Hope enter the Race.
The breaking point: There have been several instances, but zip lining definitely comes to mind.
The quote: “Mother of Cher!”
4. Copy Cats
The scene: Jinder and Sukhi found themselves tied in last place with Audrey and Alain during a casino Road Block in Macau.
The breaking point: Sukhi wouldn’t stop asking the other couple to just tell them how to solve the puzzle.
The quote: “We’re not going to tell you!” Audrey screamed, clearly frustrated.
5. Call the medic!
The scene: The teams were asked to participate in a flood training simulator.
The breaking point: Dehydration and raw nerves.
The quote: “I guess you don’t want to join the navy now, eh?” one of the staff asked Shahla when she started crying to be hoisted out of the room.
6. Call the medic take two
The scene: Teams were asked to surf the waves in Episode 2.
The breaking point: Shawn’s shoulder popped out just as he was about to ride a big one.
The quote: “We started off last. We were climbing the ranks at every step. And that’s probably what hurts the most,” Shawn looked back, his arm now in a sling.
7. Penalty Box
The scene: Bob and Rex realized they weren’t going to be able to compete in the surfing OR the chair building challenges.
The breaking point: Rex was apparently in deeper water than the rest of the teams.
The quote: “Holy s*** editing makes us look soo bad!!!” Rex later tweeted.
8. Go Fish
The scene: Jackie and Laura chose to filet fish during a Detour, despite the fact that both of them are vegetarians.
The breaking point: Running out of fish to fillet and having to switch tasks.
The quote: “You’d think we never touched a fish before but we trained for The Amazing Race Canada by cutting fish and trying to eat them!,” the pair posted on Facebook after the episode.
9. Missing the Mark
The scene: During a Road Block, one member of each team had to trek through a Yukon forest to retrieve bullets, then cycle back hit five targets (with five shots).
The breaking point: Nicole missing … and missing … and missing
The quote: “I should have done this …” Cormac muttered to himself as his mum sped off to retrieve her umpteenth round of ammo.
10. Underneath it All
The scene: In Macau one member of each team was forced to jump from the tallest bungee jump in the world.
The breaking point: No loose clothing allowed.
The quote: “(They said) ’empty your pockets,’ so right away I whip my pants off — ’cause you know, that’s the fastest way to empty your pockets,” Mickey told cameras after stripping down to leopard print undies for the task.
