Calling all billionaires seeking a fabulous home in L.A., we’ve got a catch for you. Your buddy and Formula 1 heiress Petra Ecclestone is willing to part with her beloved Holmby Hills mansion for the very low price of $150 million.
OK, so it’s not that cheap, — even for you billionaires — but hear us out. Yes, if sold at that price, it’ll be the most expensive home in all of the (American) land, but for good reason.
First off, it was built and formerly owned by wonder-producer Aaron Spelling. The TV innovator who created hit series like Charlie’s Angels, Starsky and Hutch and Beverly Hills 90210 Plus, he’s Tori Spellings dad. (That’s an added bonus.)
While Petra bought the home for a mere $85 million, she invested a lot of money into it — and you should take that into account. According to Forbes, her and her husband James Stunt, a British billionaire in his own right, hired 500 workers for the mansion-makeover which set them back $20 million.
The mansion, which was dubbed “The Manor” by the Spellings, has 123 rooms and over 55,000-square feet of space.
Another cool selling point is that a bajillion famous people roamed those very halls. “All the stars came through,” Aaron Spellings wife Candy said, speaking to the LA Times back in 2009. “Prince Rainier, Prince Charles, Jackie Kennedy — every star from every one of Aaron’s shows.”
Jackie. Freaking. Kennedy. Now you really have to buy it.
Oh, so you’re still not feeling it? Here are the biggest selling points: It comes with its very own bowling alley and spa. Yep, that means you can bowl to your hearts content a.k.a. ruin your finger nails and feet and then pop into your spa to get cleaned right up. Want to see what it looks like for yourself? And we’re out.
