Did you know that Natasha Lyonne and Fred Armisen have been together since 2014? If so, congratulations. If not, you’re definitely not alone—it would seem these two are a well-established part of Hollywood’s “private couple” club. So when Lyonne spilled some deets about their relationship during her Tuesday night appearance on Conan (Monday to Thursday at 1:30 a.m. ET on CTV), we were all ears.

After telling Conan that she’s done with shooting summer “pictures” (because she’s apparently from the ’30s), Lyonne mused about her ideal vacation, saying that while Armisen enjoys destinations like Iceland (and so does she—it’s the hair), she also loves a good swim, AKA more tropical destinations.

Here’s where the couple disagrees: “Fred finds the ocean to be too strong and unyielding,” the Russian Doll star spilled. “He wants no part of it.” After you stop chuckling, it’s actually quite poetic. We can just hear Fred Armisen deadpanning a poem about the untamable nature of the sea.

Of course, Lyonne isn’t ready to give up that “sand in the sheets” dream, which naturally lead to endless debates and some compromise, mostly on Fred’s part. “If we find a good summer spot, I can put him under an umbrella, and he can watch my cell phone and watch me swim,” Natasha told Conan.

Overall, despite his ocean aversion, it seems like Fred Armisen is generally a pretty chill boyfriend. The last time Natasha was on Conan, she told the story of her almost-orgy at a Netflix mixer in Brazil. While the adventurous night didn’t end up happening, Fred’s response when Natasha called to get the okay (because she’s not going to enter into any kind of intimacy without her partner’s consent) was “do what you gotta do.”

Don’t we all deserve that kind of unwavering support?
