Being a spectator at any sports game brings a lot of excitement, especially at professional sports games. They encourage you to cheer—and boo—and, of course, to have fun. If you’re lucky you’ll even get to have a moment with a player.
This wasn’t exactly the case between Oklahoma City Thunder player Russell Westbrook and a young fan. Actually it was quite the opposite. Westbrook, who has a record for arguing with fans, was took off guard during a recent game after a young fan smacked him on the back. Shocked, Westbrook turned around, confused at first to who did it. When he noticed that it was the young fan, Westbrook quickly lectured the dad.
Catching the attention of the media, reporters asked what Westbrook told the father.
“You’ve got to control your kids,” he said, emphasizing the right way fans should behave. “There’s too much leeway for all the fans to touch the players and get away with it.”
