There are plenty of schools of thought when it comes to the best way to blend in your foundation. A sponge, your fingers or the ever-popular beauty blender are all pretty valid applicator choices when it comes to a flawless glow.
Except buying all those expensive tools can add up. Why buy a beauty blender for twenty bucks when you can buy a dozen eggs for a fraction of that price, boil them up and have a ready-made applicator AND a snack?
At least that was the thought beauty bloggers Nadi and Esther Gbudje had when they recently used a hard boiled egg to blend in their makeup on their respective social media feeds.
EGG BLENDING SPONGE I have seen loads of beauty hacks using different things as blending sponge like 🍅, kitchen scourer, pads even condoms (I would have loved to try that but I would have to answer loads of questions from hubby lol) so I took it a notch by using a HARD BOILED EGG 🍳 Sienna had a filled day laughing so hard she said ‘oh Mummy you are crazy and I love it’ lol. Well anyway did it work YES it did, would I use it again hmmmm MAYBE . Would you try this hack? Yes or No. What you think? Let me know what other Instagram Beauty Hack you have tried and it actually worked for you. Do enjoy the video. We guess it makes sense. A hard boiled egg does look like a beauty blender, after all. Plus its smooth texture means that none of the foundation will soak into the egg, allowing for a seamless blend.
But when you’re forced to eat your tool in the middle of makeup application, like Nadi was, we’re thinking it’s not exactly the sign of an easy or functional tool, now is it?
Plus there’s the fact that when you use a hard boiled egg to apply your makeup there’s a good chance your face could actually smell like hard boiled eggs. And really, that’s not a smell we want to linger all day.
We think we’ll just stick with a regular old beauty blender for now, thank you very much. But kudos to these bloggers for their creative innovation — their faces do indeed look egg-cellent.
